Perry Dream Park presents: The Perry Area Teen Leadership Development Program
What is The Perry Area Teen Leadership Development Program?
The Perry Area Teen Leadership Development Program is a free afterschool pre-employment and leadership training program sponsored by the Perry Dream Park
It is designed to equip teens with important leadership and employment related skills needed to stand out in today’s competitive market. The program is open to teens 14-18 years old, currently in grades 9-12. This program is open to all Shiawassee County teens but space is limited and pre-registration is required.
Teens that successfully complete the program will receive certificate of completion, be able to participate in employment or intern opportunities may be available through area employers throughout the school year to teens who complete the program. This is a free program to teens in our area.
The Perry Area Teen Leadership Development Program
This six-week after school program is designed to give students a basic understanding of top skills that are required in today’s workforce. Leadership, soft skills and technical training is provided to all students.
Core Competencies of the Program
Volunteer work is an essential part of the program and allows students to become activity engage in their communities. By doing this, they learn additional leadership skills and build real world experience for their resumes and college applications. This experience also allows them to apply the training and skills learned in the program in the real world.

Graduation Requirements
- Students must dress appropriately for a job interview.
Students must demonstrate their job interview skills in a mock interview. - Students must demonstrate proficiency in All Core Competency Skills.
- Students must develop personal goals, action plans and personal mission statements.
Students must complete evaluation forms. - Participate in 10 hours of volunteer work.
- Students must attend Graduation Ceremony.
